We have grouped our soil pollution and groundwater remediation projects into six categories: DoD, Petroleum, Industrial, Federal, Real Estate, and State/Local. DoD Projects – COLUMBIA has successfully performed projects on dozens of Army, Navy, and Air Force sites around the country using our array of High Resolution Vertical Profiling tools and real-time data services, SmartData Solutions® for optimizing all phases of the field work and reporting. Our focus on high-quality, cost effective subsurface assessments along with our Veteran-owned status and extensive experience with Performance Based Contracting and EPA Triad projects has made our firm a natural match for assessments of petroleum contaminated soil and solvent contamination on defense facilities. Our team knows how to get in, get the job done right the first time and provide professional, high-resolution imagery for communicating actual site conditions to the regulators, the community and the command for reliable and timely decision making.

Petroleum Projects – COLUMBIA has conducted environmental remediation assessments at hundreds of petroleum stations, refineries and terminals nationwide. Serving as a site characterization partner for oil companies nationwide, COLUMBIA has played an integral role in the decision making process by providing real-time information on site specifics.

Industrial Projects – Health and safety and professional performance are very important considerations on many chemical and other industrial facilities. COLUMBIA’s crews are certified by many of the Fortune 500 firms for operating on their sites. The MIP (Membrane Interface Probe) is ideally suited for the mapping of chemicals that have migrated from dry cleaners and other industrial sites. When this technology is optimized via our real-time data services, SmartData Solutions® it becomes a very effective tool for quickly locating the source and extent of solvents in the subsurface soil and groundwater.

Federal Projects – COLUMBIA’s real-time data services, SmartData Solutions® has displayed instrumental results in defining the mass distribution of soil pollution and groundwater contamination at an assortment of federal locations. Working on federal sites requires compliance with very high levels of security, safety and documentation.

COLUMBIA has performed environmental remediation site assessments on the following federal projects:

  • DOE (Department of Energy): Denver Federal Center, and Paducah
  • EPA (Environmental Protection Agency): McAdoo, Kokomo, Peach Orchard, Wayland, and White Swan

Real Estate Projects – COLUMBIA’s involvement in property transfers, divestitures, and site redevelopments, while working closely with commercial real estate owners, developers, property managers, as well as architectural and engineering firms has benefited all parties while detecting subsurface contamination prior to the completion of a sale, construction, and property expansion.

State/Local Projects – COLUMBIA has provided valuable information to state regulators minimizing the gaps on data uncertainty to benefit local communities on environmental concerns to advance with environmental remediation plans.
