COLUMBIA Technologies, a high-tech environmental services company, is seeking both Junior Level and Senior Level Geochemists, Scientists and Engineers for its field services division to support its project growth in North & South America and Africa.
Position Duties and Responsibilities
Front line role in our environmental site assessments of contaminated land and facilities.
As a Junior or Senior Level Field Geochemist, you will assume a high degree of individual accountability with minimal supervision. Working with other team members and clients you be responsible for the accurate collection of hydro-chemical, geochemical, and biochemical data at environmentally contaminated sites using the latest state-of-the-art direct sensing analytical instruments.
During your time with us you will travel to engage directly with a variety of clients and stakeholders, to better understand the impact of underground chemical pollution to facilities and communities. You will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of a vehicle, analytical testing, and computer equipment. Your daily activities will require a good understanding and integration of geology, chemistry, biology, information and mechanical systems.

The minimum qualifications for this position are:
- Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering from a four-year college or university.
- Strong academic background in mathematics and environmental chemistry or geology.

The ideal candidate will have good communication skills, demonstrated problem solving skills, and experience with equipment operation and maintenance. This is an opportunity for unique individuals to step into a highly visible position on the forefront of high-resolution remedial site characterization and monitoring. You will need to be a quick learner, highly organized, have a “can do” attitude and able to work independently right from the start, although intensive training will be provided over a short time period.
Competitive candidates for the Senior Level position should have with a minimum of 2-4 years of related experience. Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience in environmental consulting, direct sensing (MIP/LIF/OIP/HPT/CPT) and Geoprobe operation. Experience in drilling and other sampling methods would be beneficial.
