COLUMBIA Technologies has a long and successful track record of providing high-value environmental remediation design characterization surveys and data support to state programs and local agencies that oversee programs for the risk management and cleanup of dry cleaners, underground storage tanks and brownfield redevelopment sites.

State Program examples include:

State Dry Cleaner Programs

High-Resolution Site Characterization and real time information from SmartData Solutions® are tailor-made for helping states and communities reduce the risk, uncertainty and costs of contaminated site cleanup and remediation. Embodying the best science and the best quality, our expert application of advanced visualization and reporting tools provides decision-makers and stakeholders with more reliable data, deeper understanding and pinpoint recommendations.

Leaking Underground Storage Tank (UST) Programs

COLUMBIA Technologies is a proud sponsor of the Interstate Technology & Regulatory Council (ITRC) nationwide training series events on various topics related to the exchange of technical and regulatory information on the larger subject of environmental remediation. In conjunction with this effort, we are able to provide an enhanced level of understanding and training to the development of LNAPL conceptual site models, with additional presentations given in numerous industry forums, such as the National Tanks Conference and Expo sponsored also by New England Interstate Water Pollution Control Commission. An additional example can be seen in our analysis of an underground storage tank site in Auburn, Alabama revealed a much larger and more complicated contaminated area than first thought, but it also enabled stakeholders to develop a comprehensive remediation plan based on real-time information they could see unfolding minute-by-minute. With site cleanup efforts pointed in the right direction, the State of Alabama was on track to save time and money and achieve a sustainable outcome.

Brownfields Redevelopment and Voluntary Cleanup Programs

Since 1999, our technical staff of experienced geologist, chemists, and engineers have performed over 2,000 high-resolution site evaluations at environmentally challenged sites all across the United States, throughout North and South America and around the world. In addition to numerous state and local governments, our 300-plus customers include federal agencies, government consultants and service providers, 20 of the world’s top environmental design firms and global 500 companies. Committed to advancing the science and art of remediation assessment, we’re active participants in the Small Environmental Business Action Coalition (SEBAC), Sustainable Remediation Forum (SURF), the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), and The National Brownfields Association.

As part of our continued commitment to Brownfield programs and initiatives, we participated in a municipal redevelopment project with the City of Caldwell, Idaho.
